PCOS Acupuncture in Phoenix, AZ

PCOS affects how you ovulate, how you feel and often whether you can conceive, and many women are offered little beyond birth control or metformin. We use acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and nutrition support to work on the patterns underneath: cycle regularity, ovulation, insulin and androgen balance, and the fatigue and mood changes that come with them.

Care is led by Rebecca Burrous, DCM, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, a Doctor of Chinese Medicine with 15 years of experience in women’s health.

How We Approach PCOS

Treating the pattern, not just the symptoms. PCOS presents differently in different women. We identify your pattern and treat that, adjusting as your cycle responds.

Working alongside conventional care. Many patients see us while also taking medication prescribed by their doctor. We’re glad to work alongside that.

Cycle and ovulation support. For many women the clearest early change is in their cycle: more regular, more predictable, easier.

Sustainable changes. We don’t ask for elimination diets or dramatic overhauls. Small, manageable adjustments alongside treatment tend to last.

Common Questions

Does acupuncture hurt? The needles are very thin and most patients feel little more than a light tap. Many find treatment deeply relaxing.

Will I need a strict diet? No. We may suggest adjustments based on your symptoms, but we don’t push rapid, dramatic dietary changes.

How long before I see results? Many patients notice something within the first few treatments, often in sleep, energy or pain. Cycle changes take longer, since a cycle takes a month to complete, and with PCOS we’re working on patterns that have usually been in place for years.

Most patients see meaningful cycle changes within three to six months. For more complex cases, or where symptoms have been long-standing, it can take a year of consistent care. We’ll give you a realistic timeline at your first visit based on your symptoms and history.

Can Chinese medicine help with PCOS? For many women, yes. There’s a body of research on acupuncture for ovulation and hormonal patterns in PCOS. It isn’t a cure, and anyone promising one isn’t being straight with you. What it can do is support more regular cycles, ovulation and how you feel day to day.

Ready to find out what’s actually driving your PCOS symptoms? Book a consultation and we’ll go through your pattern together, then build a treatment plan around your specific body — not a generic protocol.

Appointments often book two weeks out. If you don’t see a time that works, add yourself to the wait list — spots open regularly.
