Acupuncture for Pregnancy and Labor Preparation in Phoenix
“Went into labor 4 days after an induction treatment!! I saw Rebecca as an alternative to a scheduled medical induction. She was amazing to work with and really helped me with my high blood pressure and anxiety at the end of my pregnancy. I would go to her again for sure!!” — Alexia A. ★★★★★
Pregnancy brings changes that many women are told to simply put up with: nausea, exhaustion, back and pelvic pain, heartburn, broken sleep. Acupuncture offers a drug-free option for a lot of it, and a way to prepare your body for labor in the final weeks.
Care is led by Rebecca Burrous, DCM, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, a Doctor of Chinese Medicine with 15 years of experience in women’s health. We work alongside your OB or midwife, not instead of them.

Breech Positioning
If your baby is breech, acupuncture gives you something to try while you weigh your options. Treatment works on relaxing the uterus and pelvic floor, improving circulation to the pelvis, and easing the tension that builds in your lower back and hips. A baby with more room and less resistance is more likely to turn. We also use moxibustion, gentle warmth at a point on the little toe, which you can continue at home between visits.
Timing matters. This works best between 32 and 36 weeks, while your baby still has room to move. Talk to your OB or midwife as well, since timing matters.
Labor Preparation
In the last four to six weeks of pregnancy, weekly acupuncture helps prepare your body for labor: easing tension in the pelvis and lower back, supporting circulation, and helping you sleep and rest while you still can. The aim is a body that’s ready, not a labor that’s forced.
Past your due date? Treatments over two or three consecutive days are the usual approach, so timing matters more than usual.
Call or text us at 602-497-3282 and we’ll get you in. If you’re close to your due date or past it, we’ll always find room for you, even if the online schedule looks full.
